引導學生進入臨床環境，並為外科技術人員提供必要的基本技能的經驗。主題包括但不限於:擦洗、穿長袍、戴手套和懸垂;協助病人護理;器械和用品的加工;無菌場的維護;和環境衛生。另外，通過臨床經驗介紹了外科團隊參與的發展。重點放在觀察/參與核心和專業手術的常規程序和程序。主題包括:普外科(包括胃腸外科)、心胸外科、耳鼻喉外科(ENT)、眼科外科(Eye)、泌尿生殖外科、神經外科、產科和婦科外科、口腔頜麵外科、整形外科、周圍血管外科、整形和重建外科、采取/移植外科。學生必須完成的病例總數為120例。 Students are required to complete 30 cases in the General Surgery specialty. Twenty of the cases must be in the First Scrub Role. Students are required to complete 90 cases in various surgical specialties. Sixty of the cases must be in the First Scrub Role and evenly distributed between a minimum of 5 surgical specialties. However, 15 is the maximum number of cases that can be counted in any one surgical specialty. Diagnostic endoscopy cases and vaginal delivery cases are not mandatory, but up to 10 diagnostic endoscopic cases and 5 vaginal delivery cases can be counted toward the maximum number of Second Scrub Role cases. Cases that are in the Observation role must be documented but do not count towards the minimum of 120 cases.
